MP for North Tongu and petitioner for CHRAJ investigations into the National Cathedral project, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has disapproved of the Commission’s exoneration of Rev Kusi Boateng of alleged different identities.
The lawmaker in petitioning CHRAJ for investigations into the project, alleged that Rev Kusi Boateng, a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral Project, possessed two passports with different names and dates of birth.
But after an extensive investigation into the matter, CHRAJ on Monday, November 25 cleared Rev Kusi Boateng of the allegations.
CHRAJ clears Rev Kusi Boateng of allegation of holding two passports with different names
Speaking on 3FM’s Hot Issues on November 25, 2024, Ablakwa although welcomed the investigation said CHRAJ did a “shoddy” work by clearing Rev Kusi Boateng of the allegation of different identities.
According to him, the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) only investigated the passport of Rev Kusi Boateng which contained one identity.
Ablakwa contended CHRAJ forfeited other evidences such as the driver’s license, the Ghana Card and other GRA documents which proved Rev Kusi Boateng’s dual identity.
The North Tongu MP noted that even if CHRAJ is to go by the passport evidence, that alone cannot clear Rev Kusi Boateng of any wrongdoing.
“On the specific matter relating to the double identity of Victor Kusi Boateng and Kwabena Adu-Gyamfi. In that department, CHRAJ did a shoddy job. All they did was to look at passports, they did not avert their minds to all the IDs that I placed before them.
“They did not avert their attention to his driver’s license which is in the name, Victor Kusi Boateng, the Ghana Card evidence, the GRA where he operates two different identities, two different things and the fact that he uses different dates of birth.
“All they did was to say that when they went into the passport database, they saw that he has only one passport in the name Kwabena Adu- Gyamfi, even that should that exonerate him?” he quizzed.
Okudzeto Ablakwa believes that CHRAJ by this verdict on Rev Kusi Boateng puts its credibility in the mud.
“You are appointed as Victor Kusi Boateng but when the state decided to appoint you for your official assignment, the passport is in a different name, Kwabena Adu Gyamfi and you call that an exoneration.
“That aspect of CHRAJ dents the credibility of CHRAJ. CHRAJ was on a very good trajectory with a great investigative work but its so bizarre how they handled the Kusi Boateng aspect,” he added.
