In the heart of Ghana’s capital, Accra, a revolutionary program is transforming lives; one punch at a time. Welcome to ‘Street to Champions,’ an event powered by Ace Power Promotion and supported by Centre Point Mall.
On November 5th, 2024, the countdown began to the highly anticipated boxing bout dubbed ‘Street to Champions’, set to take place at Centre Point Mall on November 16th 2024.
Street to Champions, a program by Ace Power Promotion, supported by Centre Point Mall provides support for less privileged amateur boxers in Ghana who are looking to go further in the sport.
Months after taking home one out of seven gold medals for Ghana in boxing at the 2023 African Games, Samuel Takyi will battle Emmanuel Quartey in the eight-round Lightweight Championship, which is one of the headline bouts of the night.
Other bouts include a fierce fight between Samuel Quaye and Michael Ansah (One Bullet) for the National Super Lightweight Championship, and a showdown between Holy Dorgbetor, Ghana’s IBF Continental Africa Super Featherweight champion and African WPBF boxing champion from Benin, Clement Loko.
Kumar Asnani, Director of Centre Point Mall, supporter of the event, sees the ‘Street to Champions’ initiative as a game-changer for Ghana’s disadvantaged youth as the program will serve as a platform for young boxers to excel.
“The aim is to give the youth something to focus on, give them something positive. We need to take our kids off the street, of the drugs and all kinds of vices that are out there right now. We spend so much money on so many things, why not invest in our youth and their future.”
As the bell rings, signalling the start of this epic battle, Centre Point Mall will come alive with the spirit of competition. For these young champions, every punch thrown is a step closer to greatness. Witness the birth of new heroes in an unforgettable night of boxing.
