Kwesi Appiah and Abdul Aziz Issah have been nominated for the 2024 CAF Awards, set to take place on December 16 in Marrakesh.
The nominees were announced on Thursday, highlighting Ghana’s presence in various categories.
Appiah is nominated for Coach of the Year, recognised for his impressive success rate with the Sudan national team.

He has transformed Sudan into a competitive football squad, bringing them close to qualification for AFCON 2025.
Appiah’s Sudan have achieved their highest FIFA ranking in nearly a decade after they recently defeated Ghana 2-0 in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
Issah has received nominations in two categories: CAF Inter-club Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year. The young talent played a crucial role in Dreams FC’s impressive journey to the CAF Confederation Cup, netting four goals. In the Inter-club Player of the Year category, he faces competition from his former teammate John Antwi, who scored six goals.

Additionally, Issah was brilliant for the Ghana U-20 team, contributing to their victory at the African Games on home soil, making his nomination for Young Player of the Year well-deserved.
Dreams FC has also been nominated for CAF Inter-club Team of the Year, recognizing their remarkable achievement of reaching the semi-finals in their debut African campaign.
