Ghana coach Otto Addo expressed his frustration after the Black Stars were held to a goalless draw by Sudan in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on Thursday.
The result leaves Ghana in a difficult position, needing wins in their remaining matches to secure qualification for the tournament in Morocco.
Speaking to the media after the game, Addo lamented the missed opportunities but remained confident about Ghana’s chances in the next match.
“Sudan were very lucky today,” he said. “In the next game, they won’t be lucky.”
Black Stars dominated the game at the Accra Sports Stadium but were unable to take their opportunities.
Key players such as Mohammed Kudus, Inaki Williams, and Antoine Semenyo all missed chances, while Sudan’s defence held firm.
The draw leaves them third in Group F, making Monday’s return match against Sudan in Libya a must-win for their qualification hopes.
