Team Hubes Dance Crew emerged victorious at the first-ever Ghana DanceSport League, held on October 5th at the 10th Ghana Dance Festival’s Street Dance Fiesta.
Competing against top dance teams, including United Kings Academy and 4Bent Dance Crew, Team Hubes wowed the judges with their creativity, teamwork, and execution.
The League’s format involved multiple stages, with dance crews performing unique routines.
Team Hubes beat 4Bent Dance Crew in the semi-finals and faced United Kings Academy in a thrilling finale, securing the top spot.
They took home a cash prize of 4,000 cedis, while United Kings Academy and 4Bent Dance Crew won 2,000 and 1,000 cedis respectively.
Esteemed judges Adjetey Sowah, Dr. Terry Bright Ofosu, and Yvonne “Laladzy” Okyere praised the dancers for their skill and passion.
According to Ghana DanceSport League founder Robert Klah, the event underscores the rising recognition of dance as a sport.
Future plans include launching a DanceSport School League and fostering global opportunities for Ghanaian dancers.
The 2024 League was part of the Street Dance Fiesta, which also featured performances from local dance stars and workshops by DWP Academy.
