Ghanaian actress Fella Makafui has been featured in the second season of popular Nigerian Netflix series ‘Anikulapo’. Fella will play a main character role in the movie which will be available on Netflix to show in over 191 countries.
Nigerian movie Producer, Kunle Afolayan disclosed in June this year that Season 2 of the award-winning Nigerian movie will be filmed in Ghana.
In a post on Monday, October 7 the Chief Executive Officer of the National Film Authority (NFA), Juliet Asante announced Fella’s role in the movie with a picture of the actress in action.
This forms part of Ghana’s mission to collaborate with other African countries as a path to opening doors for Ghanaian talent on the world stage.
The series, directed by renowned filmmaker Kunle Afolayan, is greenlit by Netflix and will be available in over 191 countries, positioning Ghana as a growing destination for film production under the NFA’s #ShootInGhana agenda.
Asante expressed her gratitude for the support from the Ministry of Tourism, the Ghana Tourism Authority, and the Ghana Museums & Monuments Board, as well as Kunle Afolayan’s willingness to collaborate on this project.
She extoled Fella Makafui for her hard work and dedication, particularly her commitment to learning the Yoruba language for her role.
Fella Makafui, celebrating the milestone on her Instagram, revealed she will portray the character Abena in the second season of Anikulapo–a show which explores life in pre-colonial times.
