Former Asokore Mampong Municipal Chief Executive under erstwhile NDC administration, Nurudeen Hamidan, has said the National Democratic Congress will compile its own voters register and use that for the 2024 election if the Electoral Commission fail to audit the current provisional voters register.
Hamidan told Evans-Nkum on M’abato on Akoma 87.9fm on September 17.
“We are ready for anything. We will not allow illegal thing to happen in Ghana. We are determined to face anybody. We will use NDC audited voters’ register if the Electoral Commission fails to audit the provisional voters’ register.
He said nobody can intimidate NDC members in the country ahead of the elections.
He announced plans by the party to initiate a series of actions against the Electoral Commission (EC) if its demand for a forensic audit of the 2024 register is not met.
On Tuesday, September 17, the NDC organised a nationwide protest, dubbed “enough is enough”.
The demonstration was sparked by alleged discrepancies in the provisional voters’ register, which the party claims to have uncovered after receiving it from the Electoral Commission.
He said the party is giving the Electoral Commission one week to review the petition and respond to their demands.
He said if the Commission fails on their demands, the party will roll out a series of actions aimed at compelling them to grant their request for the audit.
