Chelsea have officially extended the contract of striker Nicolas Jackson, securing his services until 2033.
This new deal reflects the club’s confidence in the Senegal forward, who was signed from Villarreal for £32 million last summer.
Jackson has made a significant impact since joining Chelsea, scoring 14 goals in the Premier League last season and netting eight goals in his last eight matches, including a goal in the recent 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.
After the match, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca commented on Jackson’s new contract, stating, “The only thing I know is he’s signing a new contract – I don’t know how many years. I’m very happy. Nicolas is doing a fantastic job with us, on and off the ball.”
Maresca emphasised that the contract extension is not a reflection of a lack of trust in Jackson, especially after the club’s summer pursuit of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
“I have faith, and the club also, even before. Not because we are looking for another striker; not that we don’t trust Nicolas. We trust Nicolas,” he said.
The renewal follows another two-year extension for Cole Palmer, also until 2033, as Chelsea aims to build a strong attacking core under Maresca.
Chelsea’s performance so far this season has been mixed, with one win, one draw, and one loss in their first three league matches.
Jackson’s continued development and contributions will be crucial as the team looks to improve its standing in the Premier League and beyond.
