The Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), ADO Alex King Nartey has said illegal connection may have caused the fire incident at Circle in Accra.
A fire outbreak was reported at the Kwame Nkrumah interchange area, formerly called ‘Circle’ on Wednesday June 5.
About 100 wooden structures supposedly serving as brothels have been burnt by the fire.
ADO Alex Nartey assured that the firemen had the situation under control.
“The fire has been prevented from further spread. We are constantly engaging the fire,” Mr Alex Nartey assured.
He further stated when asked about the likely cause of the incident that “Illegal connections could be the cause.”
