Black Stars on Friday held an open training session in Accra as part of their preparations for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.
The training session took place at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon.
The event attracted significant public attention, with fans and journalists flocking to watch Otto Addo’s first training session in Ghana since his reappointment.
Twenty-four players, including Arsenal star Thomas Partey and Mohammed Kudus who had an excellent debut season with West Ham, participated in light training exercises, including penalty shootouts, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a football match.
It has been an eventful few days with the Black Stars so far.

This demonstrated Ghanaians’ enduring support for their national team despite recent setbacks, such as the early exit from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Preparations will continue in Accra until the team departs for Bamako on Tuesday, June 4. Two days later, they will face Mali, aiming for a victory to boost their chances of qualifying for the World Cup.
Ghana currently has three points from two games and cannot afford to drop points against Mali. They will also face the Central African Republic four days after the Mali match at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
