Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has admitted the team was capable of winning more trophies during his tenure at Anfield.
The former Borussia Dortmund manager joined the club in October 2015 replacing Brendan Rodgers.
The 56-year-old arguably has succeeded in restoring the club’s stature on continental and global levels winning significant major trophies which had eluded them for years.
Despite leading the team to win its sixth Champions League title in 2018/19 as well as the Premier League in the following season among other trophies, many have opined that Klopp underachieved.

“I’m absolutely fine. I know we could have won more, but I can’t change that. Missing the title by a point shows you are really good. The nearly wins will not be in the history books, but you can’t see it like that. You cannot do any better, or any different.
Liverpool under Klopp however failed to win more due to their last-minute faltering in the finals of major competitions.
They lost the Champions League twice to Real Madrid during the 2017/18 and 2021/22 seasons. The Reds also won the Premier League title only once while giving up to Manchester City’s dominance.

Liverpool also lost the EFL Cup and the UEFA Europa League to Manchester City and Sevilla respectively during Klopp’s first season.
“Being in the Champions League final three times is an outstanding achievement. I would not be happy if I thought I could have done more, I couldn’t. Could someone else have done better? Probably. But I couldn’t. The rest will be judged by the people, and I’m sure most think we were absolutely fine.”
Jurgen Klopp however also won the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup as well as the FA Cup in addition to two EFL cups.
The German tactician will be overseeing his final game as manager at Anfield when the team takes on Wolves on Sunday.
