Results collated by the Electoral Commission (EC) at its collation centre in Ejisu show that the NPP’s Kwabena Boateng has 55.8% of the total votes cast against his main contender, Kwabena Aduomi’s 43.3%
This is according to results collated from all 204 polling stations. Kwabena Boateng polled 27,772 votes whereas Kwabena Aduomi had 21,534.
With this turn of events, it is only a matter of time that the EC officials will officially declare Kwabena Boateng as the winner.
Six candidates contested for the vacant parliamentary seat.
The bye-election was necessitated by the demise of the incumbent MP, Dr John Kumah. Dr Kumah died in March after a short illness.
