President Akufo-Addo has launched a policy for the National Service Scheme.
The policy, which covers the period 2024 to 2034, is expected to offer service personnel skills and hands-on entrepreneurial training to make them ready for the job market after service.
The policy is also expected to inculcate national values and civic responsibility in service personnel mainly for the promotion of national unity and the bond of common citizenship.
Launching the policy in Accra on April 15, President Akufo-Addo said “government is committed to providing the necessary resources to ensure the effective implementation of the policy.”
Executive Director of the National Service Scheme, Osei Essibey Antwi said “the policy will ensure personnel either become self-employed, offering employment for others and also be ready for employment.”
