Budding Afrobeats musician, Banzy Banero is delighted for his three nominations at the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
Banzy in an interview on TV3 said his nomination is a testament that “finally my hardwork is being recognized.”
“I feel very grateful. It’s already like a big win for me already because seeing myself in the midst of mainstream artistes, I’m just imaging the moment they will say and the nominees are; Banzy Banero, Sarkodie, Black Sherif,” he said on TV3’s New Day Show.
“I think with the ones that came was well-deserved and enough so I’m okay. I want to win all three because they are all on my heart,” Banzy noted when asked which of the nominations he yearns to win.
Born Francis Nii Ayitiah, Banzy Banero also shared his inspiration behind his famous song, ‘Hosanna’.
According to the ‘Hosanna’ hitmaker, prior to the release of Hosanna, he had come up with two songs hoping to breakthrough with those songs but the vice versa happened.
The pressures and frustration resulting from that motivated him to write ‘Hosanna’ which turned out as a banger.
“So, we dropped Sabali, my previous song before Hosanna. So, I taught it was the song that will put me in the spotlight but I was not getting the proper feedback and engagement so I was doubting if the music thing would pick up and then Hosanna came up,” he added.
Responding to the positive outcome of Hosanna song, he said “I feel like the joy is getting nearer.”
Banzy Banero received three nominations for the Telecel Ghana Music Awards slated for June 1, 2024.
The nominations include; new artiste of the year, Afrobeat song of the year and most poplar song of the year.
