The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has accused Fantasy Entertainment, owners of Fantasy Dome of illegal power connection to the demolished building.
The ECG in a notice on Wednesday, March 20 directed to owners of the Fantasy Dome said “customer connected power illegally to the Fantasy Dome even though they have their own metering system.”
“They bypass the meter and connected the power illegally on the public network,” ECG alleged.
This comes after the Ghana Trade Fair Company demolished the event centre on Saturday, March 16 over expiration of tenancy agreement.
Asaaseradio reports that the alleged illegal connection was discovered when some electric cables sparked fire during the demolition of the facility over the weekend.
It said the incident happened whilst electricians were disconnecting power to the structure.
ECG has thus issued a 48-hour ultimatum to owners of Fantasy Dome to report to its Revenue Protection Taskforce office at Circle.
