The Creative Arts Festival, powered by Adepa Media, has been listed and endorsed by the Ghana Tourism Authority under the Beyond The Return in December initiative. The maiden edition was successfully launched and executed at the cultural centre in Kumasi on Saturday, December 3.
It was all fun and excitement as thousands of young and gifted creative minds assembled to display their creative works at the Kumasi edition of the Creative Arts Festival at the Kumasi Cultural Centre.
Activities included epic kids cooking competition, a live painting competition, rap and dance battles and a display of various artefacts and others.
In the end, Elizabetina Nkertia Poku Agyemang, a class 6 pupil from Patasi MA Experimental Primary, was adjudged as the overall best artist.
Her creative piece, a painting aimed at celebrating Ghanaian farmers did the magic.
St. Annes School in Ashtown emerged as the Winner of the cooking competition after impressing judges with their delicious Kumerican Jollof.
Other awardees include Station Basic School – Overall Best School for technology and innovation, and TI Ahmadiya school – Overall Best School for Creative Arts pieces display.
The Creative Arts festival seeks to equip students with entrepreneurial skills in the creative arts and help them discover new talents.
It also aims at promoting the country’s rich cultural values and unique creative talents to the world.
National coordinator of the Creative Arts Festival, Naphtali Baah, known in the entertainment industry as Nafty, called on corporate Ghana and all stakeholders to support the arts industry, with special attention on kids with creative abilities and innovative minds.
“I am certain that the Creative Arts Festival will empower kids to become great assets to the Nation. We will need the support of all stakeholders to achieve this.”
He hinted that the creative arts festival will make a big comeback in 2023 with five big art exhibitions in six regions.
The Event was under the auspices of the Creative arts agency, Ghana Tourism Authority and the Ghana education service with support from Twellium Ghana, producers of Verna mineral water, Mcberry biscuits and Bigoo drinks.
