Former Ghana Football Association Communications Director, Ibrahim Sannie Daara has pointed out the presence of former players in the camp of the Black Stars a factor which could contribute to a good performance at the World Cup.
Despite Ghana’s poor run of outcomes in recent tournaments, the Black Stars haven’t forsaken experience as part of management and staff to offer expert direction to the young energetic players.
The likes of Stephen Appiah, Ibrahim Tanko, and Richard Kingson have all been part of the team in previous assignments.
Currently, some former Ghana internationals, including Samuel Osei Kuffour and Ibrahim Tanko, are with the Black Stars in Qatar ahead of the World Cup.
The technical team include two former Ghana stars, Otto Addo who is the head coach and goalkeepers’ trainer Richard Kingston who featured in two World Cups.
“The coach himself was a member of the team. Part of the backroom staff is Anthony Baffoe and Sammy Kuffuor. All of these experienced ones advise the players to be measured in their expectations and take off the pressure,” Daara said on Tv3’s Key Points show Saturday.
Black Stars arrived in Qatar in style ahead of their opening game against Portugal on Thursday in Doha.
