Residents have started fleeing after sporadic gunshots were fired at Bolgatanga near Jubilee Park in the Upper East.
Reports indicate that the shootings which were heard near the chief’s palace is linked to chieftaincy dispute.
The town is becoming a ghost town as activities have come to a halt which was fired by unknown men.
According to eye witnesses, the police have taken over the community and thus blocked all major roads leading to Bolgatanga.
No casualty has been reported yet but some people suspected to be behind the shooting have been picked up by the police.
