Ghana gained its independence from colonial rule on March 6, 1957.
Independence Day parade will go on across the country where students, market women, security personnel will be marching as they salute the national flag.
Nigeria’s President Mahamudu Buhari and other African Heads of state, diplomats will grace the occasion.
The President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, first lady Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo have arrived at the Independence square in Accra.
Dr. Nkrumah became Ghana’s first President after it gained independence from Britain on 6 March 1957.
