Controversial dancehall musician Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr popularly called ‘Shatta Wale’ has been nominated for this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs).
Shatta Wale secured for himself six nominations thus battling with top notch musicians in the country.
His nomination comes after his four-year ban from the country’s hottest music event.
Shatta was disqualified from the 2016 VGMA and subsequently banned after he insulted Organisers of VGMAs in a series of videos.
Shatta was seen throwing shots at officials of Charterhouse and the former board threatening not to file for nomination in future VGMAs.
But the artiste had a changed of mind and filed for nomination.
Shatta Wale’s nominations include:
-Hiplife song of the year
-Reggae/dancehall song
-Reggae /dancehall artiste
-Best collaboration
-Song of the year
-Artiste of the year
The late dancehall diva Ebony Reigns also had six nominations:
-Album of the year
-Afro pop song of the year
-Reggae/dancehall artiste
-Highlife song of the year
-Song writer of the year
-Song of the year
Group of the year include:
-Wutah
-R2bees
-VIP
