Media encounter: Nana Addo’s delivery substandard-Kofi Adams

The National Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Kofi Adams has stated that the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is not on top of issues relating to the country.

He claimed the media encounter organised yesterday at the Flagstaff House exposed the President describing his delivery as substandard.

The President yesterday (July 18, 2017) engaged journalists following his six months into office.

Speaking with Kwame Adinkra on Abusua FM’s Abusua Nkommo, Mr Adams said the President was ill-prepared for the media engagement and that his response to the questions posed to him were not impressive.

According to him, he enjoyed the media encounters of former Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor, late Prof.Evans Atta Mills and John Dramani Mahama arguing that they were on top of issues and gave impeccable answers.

 

‘Our former Presidents Kufour, late Mills and Mahama raised the bar, but President Akufo- Addo yesterday lowered the standard in response to the questions posed to him, he didn’t impress Ghanaians at all, his delivery was substandard. We don’t expect the President to be jack of all trades, but at least he must have issues at his finger tips and be able to answer correctly, I would say he is a total failure,’ he said.

The National Organiser of NDC said the President delivered his speech amidst promises forgetting that he was not on campaign platform asking why the President is still living the 2016 general election dream.

‘The President should have it at the back of his mind that the election is over, he is now a President and he should behave as such and desist from making promises as if he is on campaign platform,’ Mr Adams asserted.

He rubbished the President’s statement that nurses and teachers’ allowances have been restored saying the President is just throwing dust in the eyes of the populace.

Mr Adams called on the President to ensure that the security of the citizenry is paramount to his government.
