Ghana achieved its independence from her colonial masters British in March 6, 1957 during the leadership of Osagyefuo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
Parades will concurrently take place in all the regional and district capitals by schools, military, police, civil servants and others.
The President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is expected to light the perpetual flame.
Various heads of States from African countries and a delegation from the Pope of the Roman Catholic Church, His Holiness Pope Francis will grace the occasion.
As part of the anniversary, some corporate bodies donated money to support activities of the committee set up by the President.
