Ghana international Mohammed Kudus will play for a new manager after Julen Lopetegui's sacking as West Ham coach.
Kudus will now be managed by former Chelsea gaffer Graham Potter following his appointment as the Hammers’ new boss.
West Ham announced the appointment of the English manager today in a club statement.
The club said it is delighted to welcome Graham Potter as the Club’s new Head Coach.
He has been given a 36-month contract and is expected to revive the club in the second round of the season after a poor start under Lopetegui which led to his dismissal.
The 49-year-old joins the Hammers on a two-and-a-half-year contract and will take charge of his new team for the first time when the Irons travel to Aston Villa in the FA Cup third round on Friday evening.
A highly-respected and sought-after coach, Potter has been awaiting the right opportunity after leaving his last role at Chelsea in April 2023, and was the Board’s unanimous choice to take the Club forward in line with its objectives and ambitions.
Potter, who was sacked by Chelsea just seven months at Stamford Bridge, is known for his possessive style of football – a playing style he perfected at Brighton and Hove Albion which saw them finish ninth in the 2021/22 season while playing exciting football.
The club said he’s ready to grasp the opportunity and can’t wait to work with his new players.
Potter, whose progressive style and flexible tactical approach previously impressed at Swedish club Östersund, Swansea City, and Brighton & Hove Albion, has a passion to return to Premier League management and is relishing the opportunity to work with West Ham United’s talented squad of international players.
Potter’s playing style will fit Kudus’ strength on the ball as the new manager prefers his team to dominate possession.

This will be the third manager the 24-year-old will play under since his move to West Ham from Ajax in August 2023.
