President-elect John Dramani Mahama has officially announced his appointments to the Office of the President in his upcoming administration. The announcement comes less than 24 hours before the presidential inauguration ceremony.
According to a release dated 6th January 2025, and signed by Special Aide to Mahama, Julius Debrah, the former Chief of Staff in the previous Mahama administration, makes a return to the role.
Dr Callistus Mahama, who was earlier appointed as the Secretary of the NDC’s Transition Team, will retain the same position in the Office of the President. Additionally, former Attorney General Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew has been named Legal Counsel to the President.

Julius Debrah – Chief of Staff
Dr Callistus Mahama – Executive Secretary to the President
Prosper Douglas Bani – Head of Interim Security Taskforce
Dr Valerie Sawyerr – Senior Presidential Advisor, Governmental Affairs
Augustus Goosie Tanoh – Presidential Advisor Responsible for 24-hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development
Marietta Agyeiwaa Brew – Legal Counsel to the President
Felix Kwakye Ofosu – Acting Spokesperson to the President
The appointments follow an earlier decision by the President-elect to name a six-member Interim National Security Coordinating Team to oversee and manage national security issues pending substantive appointments.

Kofi Totobi Quakyi – Former Minister for National Security

COP Nathaniel Kofi Boakye (Rtd.)
John Mahama is set to be sworn in as President on Tuesday, 7th January, alongside Vice President-elect Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang at the Black Star Square in Accra. The ceremony is expected to attract thousands of citizens and several high-profile international delegations.
In a related development, John Mahama has endorsed Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin to serve as Speaker of the 9th Parliament.
