Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen is expected to stay with Turkish champions Galatasaray at least until his loan move officially ends in June.
Osimhen will not exit Galatasaray this January transfer per reports by Florian Plettenberg.
Plettenberg reports that there are no ongoing negotiations with any other club that will see the 26-year-old switch clubs in the winter transfer window.
The Suger Eagles target man has been in superb form since joining the Turkish club in a loan deal from Napoli in September 2024. He has contributed to 18 goals in 14 starts – scoring 13 and assisting another five this season.
With many clubs interested in signing the in-form forward, and Napoli reportedly willing to reduce his release clause from €90 million to €75 million to facilitate his move from Italy, it was likely he could be leaving in January.
However, according to the new report shared by Plettenberg yesterday, January 5, 2025, the move away from Turkey this winter is unlikely to happen.
???????????? Understand that Galatasaray Istanbul are currently “100%” convinced that Victor #Osimhen will NOT leave the club this winter.

At the moment, there are also no negotiations taking place with other teams.
13 goals and 5 assists this season yet. Incredible signing.… pic.twitter.com/QP4apTuFZF
Other reports suggest Galatasaray could receive around €10 million as compensation if the loan agreement is terminated early.
Potential summer move
Meanwhile, struggling Manchester United and Arsenal, both lacking firing power upfront, have all been linked to the Super Eagles attacker.
The Red Devils, however, have to offload either Rasmus Hojlund or summer signee Joshua Zirkee before they can make the move.
Arsenal, on the other hand, still lack attacking depth with Gabriel Jesus’ inconsistent form biting hard into their title hopes. Mikel Arteta looks to bolster their attack, but the Gunners have other worries like finding a perfect left-wing forward to supplement Bukayo Saka’s consistency on the right flanks.
It remains unclear where Victor Osimhen will end up in the summer.
