Ghanaian international Andre Dede Ayew has rejoined French side Le Havre as a free agent for the 2024/25 season.
Ayew returns to Ligue 1 after a successful six-month stint with the club last season. He has signed a one-year contract, keeping him at Le Havre until the end of the current campaign.
Ayew first moved to France last season after leaving Olympique Marseille in 2015 to join Swansea City.
The 33-year-old is expected to bring his extensive experience to Le Havre, who are currently 14th in the Ligue 1 table after six games. His leadership and skills will be crucial as the team aims to climb the standings.
Last season, Ayew scored five goals in 19 appearances, playing a pivotal role in helping the club avoid relegation. His return is seen as a significant boost for Le Havre, both on and off the pitch.
Before returning to France, Ayew had a notable career in England, playing for West Ham United, Swansea City, and most recently Nottingham Forest. Additionally, the veteran attacking midfielder had successful spells with Fenerbahçe in Turkey and Al Sadd in Qatar, showcasing his versatility and talent across different leagues.
Since his participation with the Black Stars at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Ayew has been excluded from the last three national team call-ups.
However, his focus now remains on making a substantial impact at Le Havre and contributing to their success this season. His wealth of experience and proven track record make him a valuable asset to the team.
