The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has hosted a landmark faith and cultural gathering dubbed “Ghana in Praise,” to celebrate national unity through worship and thanksgiving as the country ushered in the new year.
Held in Accra on Saturday under the theme “One Nation, One Praise,” the event formed part of GTA’s faith, culture and tourism initiatives and brought together gospel ministers, cultural leaders, creatives, and worshippers from across Ghana and the African diaspora for a night of spiritual reflection and celebration.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Maame Efua Houadjeto, highlighted the importance of faith, culture and heritage in shaping Ghana’s national identity and soft power.
“Faith, culture and heritage are pillars of Ghana’s identity and soft power. Ghana in Praise is an opportunity for the nation to come together, give thanks and commit the year ahead into God’s hands,” she said.
She also dedicated the year 2026 to God on behalf of the Authority and its partners, describing the act as a demonstration of humility, faith and dependence on divine guidance for the tourism sector and the nation.
Following her remarks, the GTA CEO invited the Founder and General Overseer of Believers House of Worship International, Apostle Abraham Lamptey, and Founder and President of the Worldwide Miracle Outreach, Reverend Dr Lawrence Tetteh, to lead prayers, focusing on seeking God’s favour, protection and wisdom for national leadership, the tourism industry, and Ghana’s future.
The event saw musical performances from Ghanaian gospel artistes Empress Gifty, Joyce Blessing, and Noble Nketia, as well as Nigerian gospel ministers Steve Crown, Ada Ehi, and Mercy Chinwo, among others, delivering an atmosphere of uplifting worship and celebration.
According to the Ghana Tourism Authority, Ghana in Praise aims to strengthen cultural diplomacy, enhance tourism appeal and promote national cohesion, while providing a platform for engagement with the Ghanaian diaspora.
The initiative reflects GTA’s broader mission to position Ghana as a destination rich in history, creativity, faith, and national values, reinforcing the country’s commitment to unity, moral leadership, and cultural heritage.
