The arrest was carried out by the Cyber Vetting Team at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters following investigations into the incident, which occurred on December 28, 2025.
The suspect, identified as Abubakari Sadick, popularly known as “Cyborg,” was arrested a day later, on December 29, 2025, at Adenta. He is being held for the possession and unlawful discharge of a firearm.

According to the police, the weapon used in the incident—a Derya MK-12 firearm, bearing registration number 22-GHA-1162—has been retrieved and secured as evidence to aid ongoing investigations.
The suspect is currently in police custody and is assisting investigators. He is expected to be arraigned before court to face justice.
In a statement signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, the Public Relations Officer of the CID, the Ghana Police Service cautioned the public against the indiscriminate use of firearms, stressing that possession of a registered weapon does not confer the right to discharge it in public.
Chief Inspector Babanawo warned that firearm licences can be revoked and offenders charged accordingly, urging the public to strictly comply with the law governing firearm ownership and use.
