The 23-kilometre Takoradi Agona-Nkwanta road reconstruction is progressing at a fast pace.
The Contractor of the project, JUSTMOH Construction, a respected local Contractor, has for now shown that it has what it takes to complete the dual carriage road on schedule.
However, as pedestrians and users endure the inconvenience of reconstruction of the road such as battling with traffic jam, scarcity of commercial vehicles, the company appears to have turned a blind eye on the dusty nature of the road.
The dust emanating from the construction is unbearable most particularly for those who have their houses and businesses close to the road.
For instance, it had to take local radio stations in Takoradi to drum home the urgent need for the company to begin watering the road when it initially started construction. When it eventually started, the approach to watering the road has been lackadaisical.
This has pushed users to complain bitterly about the dust emanating from the road.
This reporter who plies the road every weekday can report that sometimes, for a whole week or two, the road would not be watered posing health risk to commuters.
It is the hope of The Chronicle that the company would prioritise the health of users of the road by watering it daily.
