Reverend Kennedy Okosun, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Krif Ghana Limited says in order for the country’s workforce to become productive, there is a need to redefine what work is.
He said redefining what work is will make the country’s workforce more productive and same would reflect in the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
Speaking at the launch of Krif Customer award and exhibition in Accra on Friday, Rev. Okosun said businesses, as well as the country, is losing a lot because employees often pretend they are working, while others loot and steal from their employers.
According to him, this poor attitude is killing businesses and the economy is at the receiving end, since its sources of revenue are being dissipated.
He added that elsewhere, work means serious business, whether it rains, there is freezing temperature or heat wave; people have no excuse but to go to work.
Rev. Okosun noted that poor attitude towards work is not peculiar to Ghana, but runs through the West African sub-region.
To diagnose this problem, the Reverend Minister enrolled in a master class to study Human Resource, but graduated two years after, without a solution.
He also advised the economy managers to be cautious and disciplined in order not to overrun the budget this year, to avoid future financial implications.
On the main event, he indicated that Krif Ghana Ltd finds it more rewarding to award customers for their loyalty towards their brand.
He said it been 38 years since the company was established and this was achieved by strictly adhering to work ethics, customer satisfaction, effective communication, performance and adding value to productivity has been their survival secret.
“What has kept this business running is our adherence to strict customer satisfaction,” he added.
Rev. Okasun said aside rewarding customers; the company would be selling every item on display at the exhibition at half price on January 24, 2024 at the British Council.
