South African giants Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly keeping tabs on talented Asante Kotoko midfielder Hubert Gyau following his impressive performances in the Ghana Premier League this season.
The 20-year-old has emerged as one of the bright prospects in the Ghanaian top flight after establishing himself as a key figure in Kotoko’s midfield during the ongoing campaign.
Reports from South African outlet Soccer Laduma suggest the Amakhosi have been monitoring the youngster as part of their strategy to recruit promising players from across the African continent.
Gyau has featured in 21 league matches this season and has scored four goals, numbers that underline his growing influence in the Porcupine Warriors’ setup.
Known for his composure on the ball, ability to dictate the tempo of play and willingness to push forward from midfield, the youngster has become an important figure for Kotoko in the domestic campaign.
Despite the reported interest from Chiefs, there has been no official approach for the midfielder so far.
Gyau is represented by Prosport International, with the agency’s CEO Mike Makaab revealing that he is not aware of any formal offers for the player at this stage.
For now, the Kotoko star remains focused on helping his club in the Ghana Premier League, although continued interest from abroad could see him become one of the most sought-after young talents in the Ghanaian top flight.
