Players of Hearts of Oak have raised concerns over unpaid salaries and working conditions during an emergency meeting with club management at the team’s base in Kpobiman.
The meeting followed a difficult run of results that has seen the club go three matches without a win in the Ghana Premier League, leaving them behind in the title race.
During discussions, players told management that outstanding salaries have taken a psychological toll on the squad. Some members of the team said the delays have made it difficult for them to meet personal obligations, including paying utility bills and waste disposal fees at the club house.
The players also raised concerns over a double bonus that was promised ahead of the Super Clash against rivals Asante Kotoko but has yet to be paid.
Another issue discussed was the increasing criticism and insults from some supporters directed at players following recent results.
The squad also expressed reservations about playing home matches at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium, saying the surface is hard and not ideal for football.
Club officials, including managing director Julius Emunah and board member Alhaji Akambi, assured the players that the concerns would be addressed.
Hearts of Oak will next face Heart of Lions as they seek to return to winning ways.
