Ghana international Forson Amankwah scored the winning goal for Norwich City on Wednesday night when the team came from behind to defeat Sheffield United 2-1 in their English Championship Round 37 fixture.
The highly-rated midfielder missed out on a starting role on the matchday but came on in the 81st minute to replace Ali Ahmed.
Just three minutes after his introduction, Amankwah settled their contest after he was set up by Paris Maghoma. He found the back of the Sheffield United net with a fine strike to ensure Norwich City bagged all three points after a hard day's work.
On the matchday, Jairo Riedewald equalised in the 21st minute to open the scoring for Sheffield United after he was assisted by Callum O'Hare.
Norwich City had to wait until the 68th minute to draw parity thanks to a strike from Jack Stacey after he was set up by Jacob Wright.
Amankwah’s winning goal on Wednesday has propelled Norwich City to the 15th position in the English Championship.
The fit-again midfielder will hope to hit top form in the coming months to earn a place in the Black Stars squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
