Ghana international defender Nathaniel Adjei has rejoined his teammates at FC Lorient after missing nearly a week due to flu.
The 22-year-old centre-back had been sidelined by illness and missed several recent training sessions while recovering.
FC Lorient medical staff monitored his condition throughout the week before clearing him to return.
Adjei reported to the club’s training ground on Monday, where he was warmly welcomed back by his teammates.
His return is a timely boost to Lorient’s defensive options as the squad prepares for a crucial fixture against high-flying RC Lens.
According to club sources, the Ghana defender could be available for selection for Saturday’s home game.
Adjei has been impressive since returning from a lengthy injury lay-off, including delivering a Man of the Match performance in Lorient’s French Cup victory over FC Paris.
The enterprising defender is also hoping to earn a place in Ghana’s squad for the forthcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The former Hammarby IF player suffered an injury on his senior debut for the Black Stars against Niger on November 18, 2024.
