Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew has issued a powerful rallying cry to his teammates and the nation, calling for unwavering focus and belief as Ghana intensifies preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking during an interview with Asempa FM, the Leicester City forward emphasized that success on the global stage will depend on the squad's mental fortitude and preparation.
"We need to prepare ourselves and believe," Ayew stated. "When we go out there to perform, we must stay focused and give our best."
Ayew’s call for discipline follows his record-breaking qualifying campaign, where he recorded a staggering 14 goal contributionsâseven goals and seven assistsâto lead Ghana to its fifth World Cup appearance.
His leadership has been a stabilizing force for the national team under head coach Otto Addo, particularly as the squad seeks to build on the momentum of topping Group I with 25 points.
The captain, who has amassed over 100 caps, believes that the current group of players possesses the necessary quality to compete with the world's elite.
Ghana is in World Cup Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama.
