Hearts of Oak have dismissed claims that they failed to pay striker Hamza Issah, rejecting reports that he had been unpaid for three months.
The club acknowledged discussions with Issah and his representatives but stressed that no persistent or material breach of contract occurred that could justify unilateral termination under FIFA regulations.
In a statement, the Phobians confirmed meetings with Issah on two occasions, asserting they acted in good faith to resolve “all outstanding concerns.”
"The club has not defaulted persistently or materially on its contractual obligations in a manner that would constitute just cause for unilateral termination under the FIFA Regulations.
“Following correspondence with the player's representatives, the club met with the player on two separate occasions and acted in good faith to address and resolve all outstanding concerns.
The clarification comes after Issah’s representatives threatened contract termination in December over alleged unpaid wages.
The striker, who has netted four goals in 20 league appearances this season, was recently linked to a trial in South Africa, prompting speculation he might miss Hearts’ upcoming clash with Asante Kotoko.
Hearts denied these reports, highlighting that ongoing dialogue with the player remains constructive.
Additionally, the club criticized Siwelele FC for an alleged unauthorized approach to Issah, reaffirming its commitment to protecting contracted players from external interference.
