Belgian-Ghanaian youngster Emmanuel Sarfo scored his debut goal to inspire Jong Genk to a 2-0 win over RFC Liege in the Belgian Challenger Pro League.
The 18-year-old right-back found the net with a calm and precise finish to double his side’s advantage, capping an assured performance that highlighted his willingness to contribute in attack as well as defence.
Sarfo’s breakthrough moment marks an important step in his development as he continues to adjust to the demands of senior football with the Genk second team. The defender has been steadily earning opportunities and is beginning to show why he is regarded as one of the promising young talents within the club’s system.
He also carries a notable football heritage, being the son of former Black Stars and Asante Kotoko player Francis Kumi, but is now forging his own identity in the European game.
The goal is expected to serve as a confidence boost for Sarfo as he looks to secure a regular place in the team and continue his progression in Belgium.
