Nations FC CEO Kennedy Boakye Ansah has praised defender Razak Simpson’s attitude and dedication, describing him as a player ready to serve the national team with heart ahead of Ghana’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Speaking to Citi Sports, Ansah highlighted Simpson’s professional virtues as key reasons he deserves another chance with the Black Stars.
“He has shown tremendous commitment, discipline and the zeal to give his all for the nation’s cause and the national team,” Ansah emphasised.
Simpson, who scored his first international goal in Ghana’s Unity Cup third-place playoff in May 2025, has remained a consistent figure in the Ghana Premier League this season. His club’s CEO believes those qualitiesâalong with his on-field performancesâmake him an ideal candidate for national team duties.
“We know what he can deliver. He’s a very solid player who can compete at the highest level globally.” Ansah added, reinforcing confidence in Simpson’s ability to step up when called upon.
The push for Simpson’s recall comes as Black Stars coaches have recently scouted Nations FC matches, a move Ansah believes was partly motivated by Simpson’s form.
With Ghana looking to strengthen its squad for the World Cup qualifying campaign, the public backing from Simpson’s club leadership amplifies calls for his inclusionânot just as a talented defender, but as a committed professional with the right mentality to represent the nation.
