Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito has appealed to the club’s supporters for patience as he works to resolve the challenges facing the team.
The veteran coach’s future has come under scrutiny following a string of inconsistent results this season.
After 21 games in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League, Kotoko sit fifth with 35 points, though they have advanced to the FA Cup Round of 16.
Speaking to Asempa FM, Zito urged fans to remain supportive, stressing his commitment to turning the team’s fortunes around.
"I have never been sacked as a head coach. If a club hires me, I will work, and at the end of the day, I'll leave my role, but this is my club, and I know how the fans behave," he told Asempa FM.
"I only plead with the fans to be patient, and we will surely win. We are at the 5th role, and it's not over. With 14 games left, we remain in contention for the league title
"Sometimes, my kids are disturbed, but I keep telling them this is the nature of our work, and the fans have their right to protest, but they should be patient," he added.
Kotoko will face Aduana FC in the FA Cup Round of 16 this weekend at the Baba Yara Stadium before hosting their bitterest rivals, Hearts of Oak, in the Matchday 22 games of the Ghana Premier League next weekend.
