Ghanaian forward Brandon Thomas-Asante came off the bench to provide a decisive assist as Coventry City battled back to beat Millwall 2â1 in the Championship at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
Introduced in the 70th minute, he linked up brilliantly with Haji Wright, squaring for the striker to fire home the winner in the 78th minute after Coventry had trailed early on.
Millwall struck first through Romain Esse on 11 minutes, punishing Coventry against the run of play. The hosts responded just before the half-hour mark when Mihailo Ivanovic levelled from close range after good work by Femi Azeez. Coventry then pushed hard after the break, and the introduction of Thomas-Asante added fresh energy and direct running to their attack.
His impact was rewarded when he timed his movement perfectly on the right and picked out Wright, who drove in the decisive goal to secure all three points.
The assist continues an encouraging campaign for Thomas-Asante, who now has 4 assists in the 2025/26 Championship, alongside 19 appearances and 10 goals for Frank Lampard’s side.â
