Emmanuel Annor's first half strike against Young Apostles in their Ghana Premier League Week 15 fixture helped Nations FC return to the winning track.
Nations also maintained their unbeaten run at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex after Sunday's narrow victory.
Annor scored from the spot at the death of the first half and the hosts held on after recess to bank all three points.
The win means Nations move to 10th in the league standings to ease the pressure off Frimpong Manso, who has now won three of his eight games in charge.
Apostles were looking to make it two wins on the spin after ending their five-match winless streak but the hosts showed resilience to deny to deny them a way back into the game.
The visitors, however, remain in 9th position in the league table on 20 points, a single point richer than Nations FC.
Apostles will aim to bounce back when they host league-leading Aduana Stars for their next match while Nations will travel to relegation-haunted Vision FC.
