Ghana Premier League side Hohoe United have continued their squad strengthening ahead of the 2025/26 season with the signing of experienced Guinean defender Mohamed Yorobo Bangoura.
The 29-year-old left-back completed his move on Wednesday, becoming Hohoe's second signing of the transfer window following the capture of veteran forward Lawson Bekui.
Bangoura has signed a one-year contract with an option to extend, as the Volta-based club prepares for its maiden campaign in Ghana’s top flight.
Bangoura arrives with a wealth of experience from the Guinean domestic league, where he has spent over a decade competing at the highest level.
He has previously featured for several top clubs including ASM Sangaredi, AS Kaloum, Horoya AC, Santoba FC, CI Kamsar, Teungueth FC and Milo FC, building a reputation as a disciplined and dependable defender.
Bangoura served as captain of Guinea’s home-based national team and led the side at the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN), a testament to his leadership qualities and influence on the pitch.
He joins Hohoe as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Milo FC.
In a statement announcing his arrival, Hohoe United described Bangoura as “a player of pedigree,” highlighting his vast experience and international exposure. The club will be hoping his leadership, defensive solidity and familiarity with high-pressure environments will prove vital as they aim to establish themselves in the Ghana Premier League.
Bangoura’s signing signals Hohoe’s intent to compete strongly and avoid the struggles that often accompany newly promoted sides.
