Karim Zito leads Asante Kotoko into their FA Cup clash with a calm but determined mindset, even as injuries continue to trouble his squad.
The coach believes Kotoko must adapt quickly and keep fighting ahead of Wednesday’s meeting with Future Stars FC.
Kotoko’s recent form has been difficult. In their last four Ghana Premier League games, the Porcupine Warriors picked up only two points. They scored just three goals and conceded five, a run that has pushed them down to fifth place and five points behind leaders Medeama SC.
Zito admitted the period has been tough, but he trusts his players to respond well, starting with the MTN FA Cup Round of 64 tie. He also opened up about the injury situation, revealing how stretched the defensive positions have become.
"Yes will play a match he is okay but the unfortunate side of it is that Samba is going off so you will see that the position we still have problem over there. But we will manage ourselves there because Ansu is injured Ablorh is injured, Samba is injured he is out. Imagine the 4 and 5 position the number of people injured there but we will go this is not an excuse we will adjust ourselves and play," he told Asante Kotoko TV.
The FA Cup match is scheduled for Wednesday, December 10, at Okese Park, kicking off at 3 pm.
