Ghana coach Otto Addo beleives Antoine Semenyo is ready to take the “next step”, and a transfer away from Bournemouth would be “natural” for him.
The 25-year-old has been linked to Manchester United, Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur ahead of the January transfer window.
Semenyo has a £65million release clause, which is only active until a specific date in the January window.
“He has done very well at Bournemouth, but with all the respect for Bournemouth and what they’re doing, surely it is natural for him to take the next step,” Addo told The Athletic.
Addo’s Ghana will face England in the World Cup, with both teams drawn into Group L alongside Croatia and Panama.
The Ghana head coach said Semenyo’s future, or the timing of any potential transfer, would not have any detrimental impact to his side’s plans for next summer’s tournament.
“Whether its in the winter or summer, it is a difference question but it won’t make a difference for us. I’m looking forward to him showing more of what he can to the world.”
Semenyo has impressed this term with six goals and three assists in 13 Premier League appearances, having signed a new Bournemouth contract in July that runs through until 2030.
