Medeama coach Ibrahim Tanko blames loss of concentration for Nations FC defeat
Medeama tactician Ibrahim Tanko believes his outfit inability to concentrate in key moments led to their defeat against Nations FC in the Ghana Premier League.The Yellow and Mauve succumbed to a 2-1 defeat in matchday 23 of the Premier League campaign on Sunday, with Nations FC ending their three-game losing streak at the Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese.Nations FC captain Razak Simpson scored a screamer to put his outfit ahead in the 33rd minute, but Medeama responded in the second half through a Mubarik Yussif penalty.Faisal Charwetey, in fine form this season, netted his 10th goal of the campaign to restore Nations' lead and secure the three points.Despite blaming the sides defeat to loss of concentration, Tanko praised the performance of his players.We did very well against Nations FC but loss of concentration cost us the defeat. The free-kick we conceded was unnecessary, the wall was not constituted well. In all, the boys did wellWith the win, Nations FC sit just three points behind league leaders Asante Kotoko, keeping their title hopes alive.Medeama, on the other side, sit seventh on the Premier League standings, accumulating 32 points.
