A dawn of a new era as Kurt E.S Okraku takes deserved seat on powerful CAF EXCO
Ghana's Football Association president, Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku, has taken a giant step in his career as a football administrator following his ascension to the powerful Executive Council of the Confederation of African Football.The head of Ghana's football takes his place on the Exco seat after successfully going through the necessary procedure and will represent the West Africa Football Union Zone B region.Mr Okraku's significant contribution to the sport in WAFU Zone B made him the ideal candidate to represent the region, having chaired the union in the last four years.He is expected to offer his valuable knowledge and experience in the continuous improvement of football in Africa.On Monday, Mr Okraku arrived in Egypt for CAFs 14th General Assembly and led a meeting with the WAFU B delegation to outline key regional football objectives ahead of the electionsHis confirmation will place him among past Ghanaian representatives on the CAF Executive Committee, a list that includes Ohene Djan, Kobina Hagan, Nana Fredua Mensah, Samuel Okyere, and Kwesi Nyantakyi. Unlike Okraku, his predecessors had varying degrees of government backing during their tenure.
