
Parliament is expected to deliberate on the report of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration on bilateral agreements between Ghana and the republic of Serbia, Angola and Algeria on the waiver and abolition of visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official (service) passports.
Members of Parliament are also expected to discuss the report of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration on the agreement under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea on the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction, as part of the business lined up for the house this week.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Finance is expected to lay a paper on the floor of Parliament to request for the waiver of Import Duties, import NHIL, Special Import Levy, AU Levy and EXIM Levy on the importation of vehicles with engine capacities of up to 2.70cc for Foreign Service Officers returning from postings at Ghana Missions abroad.
A Finance Committee report on the Indicative Debt Treatment Menus between Ghana and individual commercial lenders for the restructuring of the outstanding Commercial Debt of $2.7 billion would be presented to the house for deliberation as well.
The MPs would also be adopting the report of the Committee on Energy for the sum of GH¢3, 938,542,545.00 on the allocation of the services of the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition for the year ending December 31, 2026.
A private members’ motion on inquiries into the effectiveness of the policies and regulations governing Ghana’s extractive sectors and how to better regulate the sector to enhance national development would also come up for discussions on the floor of Parliament.
