Shatta Wale Expresses Interest In ‘Nkoko Nketenkete’

Dancehall Act, Shatta Wale, has expressed interest in government’s flagship programme dubbed ‘Nkoko Nketenkete’, stating he will invest in the programme to alleviate youth unemployment.

Shatta Wale made this known when he paid a courtesy visit to Member of Parliament (MP) for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, widely known as A Plus, in Parliament last Tuesday.

After his visit, the dancehall act took to social media to share his interest in the ‘Nkoko Nketenkete’ programme, emphasising that his main aim is to help create jobs for the teeming unemployed youth.

“Today, I paid a courtesy visit to the Gomoa Central Special Economic Zone to officially express my interest in investing in poultry and meat processing.

“Big thanks to the Hon. MP for the warm reception and leadership. The ‘Nkoko Nketenkete’ programme by H.E. John Dramani Mahama is true inspiration — this is how policy should empower creatives to step into agribusiness, create jobs, and build Ghana. From music to enterprise, we’re building real impact,” he stated.

The ‘Nkoko Nketenkete’ programme is an ambitious initiative by the John Mahama government to boost the country’s poultry industry and reduce dependence on imports. The programme aims to support 60,000 household poultry farmers across the country, with each participating family receiving 50 birds, feed, and technical support.

The programme seeks to generate 1.7 million direct and indirect jobs nationwide, and establish a modern poultry processing factory in Bechem, as well as partnership with private sector companies, such as A2 Poultry Farm, to establish feed factories.
