The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has announced that passports are now available for collection at designated Passport Application Centres (PACs) for applicants who have had their biometric data captured.
In a public notice, the ministry urged all passport applicants who had submitted their applications since 2016 but had not yet collected their passports to visit their respective PACs.
“Collection is available Monday through Friday between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Applicants are reminded to bring their collection slips for verification,” the statement of notice read.
The notice further listed the PAC locations for collection which include Accra PAC: Kinbu Road, on the same premises as the Old Foreign Affairs Building; Accra Premium PAC: Accra Digital Centre, Adjacent State Housing Company, Ring Road West, Accra
The Passport Head Office at Ridge, Accra, Tema PAC, formerly the IRS Office, Community 4, Tema.
For Kumasi, applicants are entreated to visit GUSA Road, Opposite PWD, Adum Kumasi; Kumasi Premium PAC on the second floor, Thankful Heights Building, Adum.
“Takoradi PAC is at the Ghana Immigration Headquarters (within the Regional Administration).
In Sunyani, the PAC is located adjacent the Jubilee Park. Ho PAC is located within the premises of the Volta Regional Coordinating Council while Tamale PAC is at the Police Park, Old Library as well as Tamale Premium PAC: Second Floor, Pension Tower, Tamale” the statement read.
It added that for applicants in Koforidua, the Koforidua PAC is located at the PWD Office, SSNIT Office Area, Koforidua.
“Cape Coast PAC is opposite the Ford Station while the Wa PAC is located at block C, Upper West Regional Coordinating Council, Wa,” it added.
Backlog
Last year, there were reports of over 40,000 passports yet to be printed by the passport office, leaving applicants unsure of when they would receive their travel documents.
The announcement of the passports points to the government’s swift response to ensure there is no backlog of passports to be cleared.
