Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has stirred controversy after revealing the reasons behind exhuming his mother’s body for reburial.
The ‘Zazu’ crooner recently made headlines after a video went viral on the X platform, where he explained the unusual decision to exhume his mother’s remains.
Portable clarified that he took this drastic step because the land where his mother was originally buried had been sold.
In the video, he stated, “I lost my mother at the age of 13. I exhumed her body and reburied her because they sold the land where she was initially buried.”
Furthermore, Portable disclosed his intention to construct a mansion on the newly chosen burial site for his mother. This decision has sparked debate and raised eyebrows among fans and the general public alike.
The singer’s actions have prompted mixed reactions, with some expressing understanding of his desire to honour his mother’s memory and ensure her resting place remains undisturbed.
However, others have criticized the move, questioning the legality and ethics of exhuming and relocating a deceased loved one’s remains.
